LONG LASTING BEAUTY:
Take care of your agamino
Silver and brass get darker over time, especially if not worn for a long time. The following gentle cleaning methods will help keep your jewel looking great. Use them regularly.
1. Soapy Water or Vinegar Bath
SOAP: fill a bowl with lukewarm water. Add a mild dish soap to the water.
VINEGAR: warm up some white vinegar. Add some warm water and a pinch of sodium bicarbonate if you have it.
Avoid using harsh chemicals such as bleach or ammonia, some metals can react with certain soaps and they can damage the surface of sea glass.
Put your jewel in the bowl and allow it to soak for a few minutes to loosen any dirt or residues. Gently rub with a soft brush or a cloth and then place back in the bath. Do not apply too much pressure to prevent scratching.
2. Rinse and Dry :
Rinse your jewel under running warm water.
Take a soft clean cloth and dry it thoroughly.
Tip: the surface of the sea glass might appear dry after this process. This is absolutely normal. Apply a thin veil of coconut (or any clear oils) with a cue tip on the sea glass. It will shine again. Your natural skin oils will help it stay shiny.
3. TAKE CARE
Store your agamino in a dry bag or box away from light and air exposure.
Better not throw it into a bag with other jewels, as they might scratch each other.
While wearing your agamino avoid doing gardening, baking, house cleaning without using gloves, or practicing sports like climbing, tennis, volleyball, anything that might cause potential damage to your ring.
Avoid swimming in the sea (I know it’s painful as it belongs to it..), swimming pool, SPA or thermal waters.
Chlorine acts on copper (found in brass) and can weaken its alloy, causing small holes, blurring stones and weaken bezels and clasps. it oxidises silver, blackening it.
Sand and sea salt dull and scratch silver.
